THE GAS WORKS

WATERINGBURY

30th June 1916

Dear Sir or Madam,

We wish to draw your attention to the great advantages to be gained by using Gas for Cooking and Heating instead of Coal, of which so much of the effective heat is lost.

We are erecting special machinery to improve the gas; to be able to reduce the price to the public and to recover the bye products which are so important for the manufacture of high explosives.

We have decided to reduce the price of Gas from 6/- to 4/9 per 1000 feet on and after 1st July, until further notice, and we hope the public will support us in our enterprise and enable us to continue to sell at such a moderate rate considering the high price of coal.

Your enquiries for Gas and Gas Stoves, Cookers, Geysers and Fittings, for purchase or hire at special low rates, will receive our prompt and careful attention.

We are, dear Sir or Madam,

Yours faithfully,

FREDk LENEY & SONS, Ltd
