Accident of Brewers Dray(1869)

Collision with a Runaway Horse.—On Friday a brewer's dray, belonging to Messrs Leney, of Wateringbury, was standing at the top of High-street, when the horse, a young and restless one, dashed off down the High-street, and the driver, James Woollett, lost all control over it. Opposite Messrs Pocock's boot shop it was met by a waggonette, belonging to Mr. Braddick, of Boughton, the driver of which was unable to get out of the way, and a collision of much force ensued, severely injuring the horse. The drivers of the vehicles escaped quite unhurt. So seriously injured was Mr. Braddick's horse that it expired on Sunday
