Extract from Tonbridge Free Press - Friday 22 April 1927

WATERINGBURY. Long Service—Last week an interesting ceremony took place at the schools, when all the children gathered together to make a presentation to Mrs. Langley, who is retiring from the position of mistress of the Infants' Department, a post which she has held for almost 29 years. The presentation was made by the two youngest children in the school, a boy and a girl, and took the form of a gold wristlet watch. The Vicar expressed the thanks of the School Managers, and the Head Master, Mr. E. A. Clarke Smith, A.C.P., pointed out that Wateringbury Schools were probably almost unique in being served by three head teachers in the three departments, all of whom had been at the schoold for over 26 years, Miss Hinton having 26 years to her credit. Mrs. Langley 29, and Mr. Link over 30.
