BREWERS’ FORTUNE.

Mr. William Jude, of Gransdon, Wateringbury, Kent, brewer, who died on November 4, left fortune of value of £148,901 17s. 4d.

Extract from Kent & Sussex Courier - Friday 10 January 1919

Mr. William Jude of Gransdon, Wateringbury, Messrs. Jude, Hanbury and Co., whose death occurred on the 4th November last, has left estate valued at. £148,901 17s. 4d., with net personafty £145,044 1s. 2d. Major Percy Jude, Wateringbury, his son, and Mr. Sydney Alfred Smith, of Howard House, Maidstone, Kent, brewer, and Mr. Frederick Francis Smith, of Rochester, solicitor, are the Executors. The Will is dated 28th September, 1916, wherein Testator left:— £50 to his Chatham manager; £25 to his Tunbridge Wells manager, and legacies to other clerks and employees: £200 to his wife, use furniture and effects in residence and £1,000 per annum for life or widowhood; £5,000 each to his sons; and £5,000 to his daughter, Florence Smith. Subject to other bequests he leaves the residue of his property to his three children in equal shares.
