Detail:

Adjourned meeting on Wednesday February 19th at Churchrooms. Present: Messrs. Blest, Tapply, Cheesman, Baker, Sharpe and Rev. Livett. Approves grant of right of burial for William Jude in sect A. Fixes date of Annual Meeting (March 17th). Receives report of cemetery committee recommending some trees and shrubs be removed. Sexton Hook attends as instructed to receive reprimand and aplogise for burying child without funeral because it had remained unburied for some days.

Meeting after Annual assembly on March 17th at the Church Rooms. Present Messrs Blest, Wm Jude, Sharpe and Rev. Livett. Cheque for £20 4s. approved to settle various accounts. Clerk reported complaint from allotment holders re damage done by rabbits. Mr Sharpe requested to examine wire fence. Mr. Sharpe reported complaint of inhabitants of Poisonwell about condition of footpath leading to Rock Farm across Chart Field following carting by Mr. English, the tenant.

Meeting on April 17th at Church Rooms. Present Messrs. Blest, Jude, Tapply, Cheesman, Baker, Sharpe, English and Rev. Livett. Blest appointed chair. Amos baker and George Chambers appointed overseers. Jeremiah Harris appointed assistant overseer. Tapply, vice-chair. Allotments needed 340 yards of wire netting which approved. Mr English was making good the footpath with stone. Agreed to approach Brocklebank re piece of land at corner of cannon lane with view of widening highway.

Letter dated July 1913 from Post Office Maidstone proposing that Teston and Wateringbury Post Offices should close alternative bank holidays after 12.00 noon. Telegrams would be delivered from open office. Would not affect continuous attendance at Wateringbury Telephone Exchange.

Meeting on July 18th at the Post Office. Present Messrs. Blest, Baker, Sharpe, and Rev. Livett. Agrees to proposed arrangements re PO’s in letter. Circular letter received from Maidstone Town Council re a motor fire engine being stationed in Maidstone for surrounding districts. Clerk to enquire as to likely costs. Livett presents Parish Charity accounts .

Meeting on December 4th at Church rooms. Present Messrs. Blest, Cheeseman, Baker, Sharpe, English and Rev. Livett. Charity accounts approved. Accounts of £22.12s. 10d. approved. Mr Brocklebank to be written to for his consent to add land at bottom of Canon Lane to roadway. Clerk to write to Mid-Kent Water Co re fire-hydrants in Parish. Committee of Livett , Baker and English to meet Royal Insurance for advice re fire hydrants.

Exchanges of letters arising re Canon Lane and copied in minute book. Brocklebank agrees. Mid Kent Water Co says there are 3 fire hydrants: one in Maidstone Road near Orpines; one at bottom of Canon Lane; one at top of Canon Lane.
