War Wedding (1918)

Extract from Kent Messenger of 29th June 1918:

WATERINGBURY.

WEDDING. — The wedding took place on Tuesday, 18th June, at the Parish Church, Wateringbury (Canon Levett officiating) of Frederick Walter Adams, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Adams, of Gillingham, to Evelyn Holmuna Martin, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Martin. The service was choral. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a dress of white silk crepe, with veil and wreath of orange blossom, and also wore a gold and pearl brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. She was attended by two brides­maids, sisters of the bridegroom, each wearing a gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. C. Lowdeil acted as best man. The reception was held at the Queen’s Head, 40 guests being

present.
