Queen's Head License refused (1859)

Extract from Sussex Agricultural Express - Saturday 10 September 1859

Mr. Francis (barrister), instructed by Mr. G. Carnell, applied for a license on behalf of Thomas Laurence, owner and proprietor of the Queen's Head, Wateringbury, and put in plans, and a testimonial, signed by a clergyman, and number of respectable tradesmen, and inhabitants of Wateringbury. The application was opposed by Mr. Knowles King, of Maidstone, on behalf of tfie landlord of the King's Head, an old established house, and was refused.
