Wateringbury horse thief to hang (1681)

Extract from Maidstone Assizes records of 15 March 1681.

Indictment of Thomas Mills, of Wateringbury, labourer, for grand larceny. On 2 July 1680 at Wateringbury he stole a black-brown gelding (£4) from Benjamin Cutter.

Endorsed Benjamin Cutter, Robert Lenham, Thomas Tapefield, James Tompson. True bill.

Guilty ; to hang.
