WATERINGBURY—

The Wateringbury Amicable Benefit Society held their 53rd Anniversary on Wednesday, at the Duke's Head Inn. The members met at the club house at an early hour, and after transacting the usual business they attended the parish church, where a most excellent sermon was preached by the Rev. H. Stevens. After the service the club paraded the village, and then sat down to a first-class dinner, provided by Mr. D. Boorman. T. White, Esq., took the chair after dinner, and the after part of the day was spent in harmony.
