BOY SCOUTS.—The Wateringbury troop of Boy Scouts have been in camp for a few days in the Place Park, and in spite of the bad weather had an enjoyable time. On the Bank Holiday they arranged a rally , and

sports meeting in aid of Sir Arthur Pearson’s Fund for Blinded Soldiers’ Children. The Wolf Cubs (under C.M. Mrs. E. Smith) joined in this event, which was quite successful, although the rain made it very difficult to prepare for the sports. Over 300 people attended and remained until the rain compelled

them to beat a retreat. Flags, postcards, bead necklaces, etc., were sold by Misses M. R. Hinton and E. M. Goldsack in aid of the fund and over £4 was thus obtained. The Scouts gave a good display of military drill and gymnastics and and amused the visitors with their many funny races, and especially by the antics of the two clowns (P.L. Julies and 2nd F. Baker).
