Extract from Parish magazine of March 1890:

An acre and a half of land in a field beyond Pizien Well have been procured for Allotments from the Trustees of the late Mr. Cook. The land has been laid out in Nine Allotments of 20 rods each, and Six of 10 rods each, and all have been taken up, at an annual rental of d per rod. Mr. Coote is Secretary to the Committee, and the Vicar, Messrs Blest, Fremlin, and White are the guarantors. The thanks of the Allotment holders are chiefly due to Mr. White, who has exerted himself most actively in their behalf. It is hoped that an equal quantity of land may shortly be acquired at the eastern end of the Village for a similar purpose.
