Cattle disease (1873)

Extract from Bucks Herald of 18 June 1873:

The Cattle Disease.—At the Petty Sessions held at Malling, Kent, Mr. William Arthur Fremlin, farmer, was charged with having 19 head of cattle affected with the disease upon his farm at Teston, without giving notice to the inspector, Superintendent Hulse. He was also further charged with having three head of cattle similarly affected at Wateringbury, without giving the necessary notice; also with having removed 23 head of cattle without having a certificate to do so. The defendant said he was ignorant of having disobeyed the law. The Bench inflicted a fine of £10, including costs.
