CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME.

KENT v. LEICESTERSHIRE.

Played at Dover on June 29 and 30. Kent won by an innings and 179 runs. Leicestershire, after seeing Kent run up 481 for six wickets on a perfect pitch on the first day, had to bat on a rain-affected wicket when their own turn came, and were beaten by an innings and 179 runs. They were handicapped in Shipman being required for the Trial match at Lord's, but Kent, for the same reason, were without Seymour, Woolley and Hardinge. Humphreys and Day added 126 together in 80 minutes, Hubble and Hutchings 146 in 95 and Jennings and Huish 112 without being separated. Hubble made his first hundred for Kent, batting for 160 minutes without a mistake and hitting eleven 4's, the majority of them fine off-strikes.
