NOTES AND NOTICES.

Confirmation : May 18th, 3.30 p.m.

A little war corner has been arranged at the east end of the north aisle. It is to be opened for view for the first time on Maundy Thursday in connexion with a Memorial Service for Arthur Mires, John Jury and Charles Robert Large, at 7 p.m. Miss Lambert suggested the idea, and has been responsible for carrying it out. It is plainly intended to foster intercession in connexion with the war. A full description must be deferred for a month or two.

The Vicar regrets that a threatened return of his old illness sent him to bed in the middle of Lent and has kept him there ever since. He hopes to be allowed to get up and do something before long. He was particularly sorry to miss taking the special service for women (Mothers' Union) and a service for men only, arranged for the afternoons of the 5th and 6th Sundays in Lent. They were kindly taken for him, each at very short notice, by the Rev. J. Goodchild, Org. Sec. S.P.C.K., and the Rev. W. Moore, Rector of Mereworth.
