Wateringbury churchwarden in prison (1761)

Extract from Ipswich Journal, 18 June 1761

Prisoners in the Sheriff of Kent's Prison or Goal at MAIDSTONE, in and for the County of Kent. Third Notice.

William Orpin, formerly of Wateringbury, late of Eltham, in the County of Kent, Carpenter and Dealer in Timber.

William Orpin had been a churchwarden the year before in 1760 and so had a Thomas Orpin in 1741 and a Nicholas Orpin in 1691.
