RIFLE CLUB- The annual general meeting of the Warde Miniature Rifle Club was held on Saturday evening at the King's Head Hotel, the President (Colonel C.E. Warde, M.P.) in the chair. The accounts were presented, showing a balance in hand of £1. 12s. 10d. as against 5s. 7d. last year. According to the Secretary's report, during the season there had been 51 meetings, and there were 72 members. Ten matches in connection with the West Kent League (home and away) were shot, and the Warde Club won four and lost six, the total points scored by the Club being 2,218, and against 2,230, a difference of two only. Two matches were shot with the Brenchley Company of the Buffs and the Warde Club won both. The prizes were presented to the winners by Colonel Warde, his cup going to Mr. S. Court for the second time. Mr. E. Brook was the recipient of the N.S.A. Medal and winners of spoons (for heat monthly scores) were Mr. E. Brook (2), Mr. S. Court (1), Mr. L. White (2) and Messrs. A. Brook and Baker (one each). In the handicap competition, the first prize was taken by Mr. J. Cronk, the second by Mr. Funnell and the third by Mr. Costin. Colonel Warde was unanimously re-elected and accepted the office of President , and the Vice-Presidents (Viscount Falmouth, and Revs G. M. Livett and F. Oliphant and Mr. A. Leney) were also re-elected. There was some difficulty in filling the post of Secretary, which Mr. M. White resigned to the great regret of the club, but eventually Mr. S. Court accepted the role. The following were elected the committee:- Drs. Black and Southwell Sander, and Messrs. W. Curd, E. Goodwin, J. Cronk, G. Woodward, A. and E. Brooks, S. and J.W. Court, E. A. Smith , and L. Smith. As a small token of gratitude to Mr. J. W. Court, for his generous help as Referee, a silver spoon was handed to him. It was decided not to enter the West Kent League this year. Mr. E. A. Smith reported that the experiment of teaching boys to shoot was very successful, and he offered to again take a class once a week.
