In the Church vestry is held a scrap book with newspaper cuttings marked "in Memory of Edgar Clarke-Smith". Some cuttings have a date handwritten beside them. Many are probably from the South Eastern Gazette. The following is marked as from 28.5.01:

RIFLE CLUB-At the Warde Miniature Rifle Club on Tuesday, the competition for a cup presented by Colonel C. E. Warde, M.P. took place. Only original members of the Club were allowed to compete, and they had to fire eight rounds at each of two targets with two different rifles. The cup was won by Mr. Court, Mr. A Starmer being a good second.
