Schools closed for measles (1887)

NATIONAL SCHOOLS.

The Schools were closed on Thursday, June the 16th, for three weeks, under the advice of the Medical Officer of Health, on account of the prevalence of measles among the children. They will re-open on Monday, July 11th.

The following Boys gained the " Good" Merit Certificate at the annual Drawing Examination, lately held by the Science and Art Department, South Kensington, viz. :- First Grade, Henry Harrup, Alfred Latter, George Porter, Horace Wells. Second Grade, William Boorman and H.A. Pierce. 46 others passed with credit.
