Extract from Kentish Gazette - Tuesday 30 August 1853

Wateringbury. On Friday the Right Hon. T. Pemberton Leigh gave his yearly treat, at the King's Head, to nearly sixty persons employed upon the Barham Court estate, at Teston. In the afternoon a match of cricket was played. The company then retired to the King's Head, where a most excellent feast was provided for them.
