Gave their Life in the Great War

1914-1918

They were the glory of their time:

Their bodies are buried in peace,

But their name liveth evermore

[then hymn “For all the saints”; the dedication; Lord’s Prayer; the contemplation; hymn “O valiant Hearts, who to your glory came” then procession from Church to Cross Roads with Scout’s band playing on march; Unveiling by Maj. Gen. Sir Arthur Lynden-Bell and dedication by bishop of the Memorial Cross after hymn “O God, our help in ages past” and National Anthem. Then hymn “God of our fathers, known of old”].

“The Chairman of Committee will entrust the Dedicated Memorial to the keeping of the Parish Council, and will hand the deed of Conveyance of the site to the Clerk for preservation in the council’s archives.”
