School inspectors' report (1887)

Extract from Parish magazine of May 1887:

THE NATIONAL SCHOOLS.

The Reports of H.M. Inspector, Mr. Carrington Ley, have been received. The Boys' and Infants' Schools are reported as " Good," the Girls' as " Fair."

The Government Grant is as follows :— Boys. £60. 1s. 8d. ; Girls, £39. 6s. 3d.; Infants, £32. 12s. 6d. Total £132. 0s, 5d.

The Diocesan Inspector, the Rev. J. A. Boodle, has fixed Tuesday, May 10th, for the Inspection of the Boys' School in Religious Knowledge ; and Wednesday, May 11th, for that of the Girls, commencing on each day at 9.30 a.m.

Miss Clara Waterman has been appointed Assistant Teacher in the Girls' School.
