Extract from Field - Saturday 05 December 1868

MID KENT v. ROCHESTER CLUB.

The above match was played at Wateringbury on Saturday last, and resulted in favour of the M.K.F.C by one goal to none. Notwithstanding the recent formation of both the contending clubs, some extremely fine play was shown.

On the winning side the running up of Messrs. Richardson (captain), E.A.White, S.T.Wood and Herbert White was specially worthy praise, the last named gentleman secured the only goal that was won during the match. The goal keeping of Messrs. E. Leney and Henry White deserves special notice. For the Rochester Club, Hume, Knight (captain), Winch. and Tuffill brothers deserve special praise.

The return match is fixed for Wednesday, Dec 9.
