Transport costs to London (1904)

An article in The Times (The Times (London, England), Monday, Sep 19, 1904; pg. 6; Issue 37503. ) discussing French agricultural competition notes that transport by train of the 38 miles from Wateringbury to London costs 12s. 2d per ton for apples, pears and gooseberries, which represents 7 1/4d. per 112lb which regarded as negligible.
