The following is an extract from the Parish magazine of March 1905 when the vicar was The Rev. Greville Livett.

WATERINGBURY CRICKET CLUB.—At a public meeting held in the Church Room on the 24th ult., about 45 gentlemen being present, the Vicar in the chair, it was unanimously resolved to start a cricket club in the village, for which Sir George Donaldson had kindly intimated his willingness to give a ground in the park at Wateringbury Place. It was decided that the Chairman should write to thank Sir George Donaldson and ask him to become Patron of the club.

The Vicar was elected President; Mr. F. B. Leney, Captain; Mr. Alfred Starmer, Sub-Captain; Mr. E. A. Smith, Treasurer; and A. B. Baker, Secretary. The General Executive Committee is to consist of the officers above-mentioned and the following, who were elected members of Committee :—Messrs. J. W. Court, Mark Tapply, Harold Reeves, Horace Pickett, R. C. M. Harris, and E. Dickerson, together with one co-opted member. Mr. Amos Baker, who had initiated the movement, asked to be excused from serving on the Committee.

Subscribers of " not less than 2s. 6d." thereby become members for the season. It is hoped that the new club will have a long and useful career. The President has pleasure in offering a bat for the highest batting average. Who will offer a ball for the best bowling analysis ?
