BOW BRIDGE LOAN.

With reference to the question, of obtaining a loan, amounting to nearly £2,000, towards the cost of Bow Bridge, Wateringbury, the Clerk reported that he had applied to four different Insurance offices— the Royal, the Prudential, the Guardian, and the Norwich— but none of them were willing to lend the money.

After some discussion, Mr. Champion proposed that the matter be left to the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman, and the Clerk to arrange the best possible arrangements for securing the loan, and this was agreed to.

The offers of Mr. Roger Leigh and Mr. Augustus Leney of small pieces of land on either side of the existing bridge, free of cost, were gratefully accepted.

The action of the Clerk in paying Mr. Hudson £10 for a piece of land on the site of the proposed new bridge was approved of.
