You have been asked to provide a reference for a friend who has applied for a summer job in an adventure holiday camp. The person appointed must have good social skills and enjoy sports. They must be reliable and have some knowledge of first aid. You should include information about your friend’s personal qualities, skills and relevant work experience, and give reasons why you recommend them for the job.

//

This reference is for Eugene Cole who is applying for the activities counselor position at the adventure holiday camp.

I have known Eugene for over 5 years.

He is a very sensible man who is always kind and courteous.

He is also always cheerful and he always keeps a stiff upper lip in any situation.

What’s more, he has a younger brother and so he is accustomed to entertaining children.

Eugene is very good at indoor climbing and swimming.

Last year he got a qualification of Mountain Training England for teaching indoor climbing, so he has official coaching skills.

In addition, he goes running every day so he is extremely fit.

Eugene is also used to hiking.

He has a high level of survival skills and a first aid among others.

He also used to work as a hospital aide for two years.

As well as sport and hiking, he loves music and playing guitar.

In future Eugene is hoping to become a sport teacher or a survival instructor.

This job would be very useful for him because he would gain valuable work experience.

So, I think that he will put in a lot of his time and energy into making sure the people at the camp have efficient sport and hike training enjoying themselves at the same time.

I suppose that Eugene would be an excellent person to do this job and I can highly recommend him for the position.
