Computer games – a complete waste of time and money

Do you love computer games or hate them?

Whatever your point of view, you are not alone!

Such games tend to bring about extreme reactions in people, and there is little middle ground.

Why is this? Let’s find out.

Some people think that computer games can help to develop attention, planning and reasoning.

Playing a computer game can increase diligence and persistence, if the game agrees with the age of a gamer.

Also gamers are demanded to have a high level of eye-hand coordination, dexterity and making quick decisions.

So, on the face of it, computer games are useful and developmental but what about the other side of the coin?

In spite of some advantages, many people believe that computer games allow gamers only to escape from reality into a virtual world.

In that case, communication with people is cut off so that young gamers' socialization is suffered.

What is more, the abilities of eye-hand coordination, dexterity and making quick decisions seem to be useful only for similar computer games.

So, what’s the answer?

Personally, I think that computer games, like everything else, have good and bad sides.

Gamers just have to balance them as best they can.

Games help to learn many things and to simulate some real situations.

For example, computer simulators are used for pilots' and spacemen' learning.

However, you can never replace friends and family with computer games and the real world with a virtual one.
