Ways of motivating children to do regular exercise:

    • parental example

    • government funding

    • school

Some opinions expressed in the discussion:

    • If children don't see their parents do exercise, they don't think it's important

1. from the sheet

Nowadays it is a commonplace to demand from the government subsidising of any social activity, for instance encouraging children to get used to keep healthy.

However, I believe that it is the parental model, as well as school programmes, which can change kids' attitude to regular physical activity.

First of all, it is obvious that the parents are the most significant figures for a child.

Consequently, the parental physical activity will inevitably involve children into it.

As old saying goes, actions speak louder than words.

So, it is crucial for the parents really do regular exerxises because pretending would be easily understood and put off by their children.

This has apparent psychological roots in surviving behaviour according to what one must get rid of anything not leading to successful surviving in a harmful environment where our ancessors lived.

As for school physical traning, it is also really helpful to adjust children to doing regular exercises.

School lessons involve the whole group of children into physical activity which leads to a competition.

The competition is one of the main ways to get attuned to a hazardous surrounding of our predesessors.

Children unconciously want to be stronger, quicker and more dexterous than the others.

Thus, it is suggested using this psychological trick to achieve the very aim.

To conclude, I would like to say that only the methods that somehow connected with the instinctive mechanisms will help to make children to be fit and healthy by regular phisical activity.

Once being accustomed to it, children will keep on taking it all their life.
