You should write at least 250 words.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Some people think that it is important to use leisure time for activities that improve the mind, such as reading and doing word puzzles. Other people feel that it is important to rest the mind during leisure time.

1. Start

Nowadays, it is fashionable to be healthy, slim and, what is more important, smart.

Because of this, some people consider that leisure time can and should be used to improve one's mind by reading modern books, solving puzzles and doing sudokus.

However, other people believe that sometimes they should give their mind some rest.

That is why they prefer to spend their vacation on lying on a beach, reading newspapers or watching TV.

Personally, I think that my mind should be always occupied because I believe that my mind cannot be tired, only my brain can.

The public, in general, tends to believe that the mind needs rest.

Indeed, everybody has to rest after a working day, especially if the person works physically, but a mental weariness is much worse.

Modern life is full of stresses.

There are many things which can make you be tired: high noise level, excessive illumination, and overcrowding.

What is more, the pace of life is getting faster and the amount of information that one is given every minute is overwhelming.

One can manage with all of that only if he or she has usually enough rest.

However, we should take into consideration that the mind and the brain are different things.

On the one hand, the brain is the medium of the mind, like a compact disk, is a medium of data.

Being a part of the body the brain can certainly be tired because you were working hard or were nervous about something.

On the other hand, the mind is your ability to think, to understand and to comprehend, it can only become dull because of tiredness, routine tasks or inactivity.

The mind as well as another tool can rust up without active using.

That is why I believe that one should try to improve his or her mind every minute.

So, it is up to everybody to decide whether to improve their mind or not.

Personally, I agree with Nikolay Zabolotskiy who wrote in his poem: "The soul must work hard all day and all night long" and I dare add "and the mind" to his words about the soul because the mind is closely connected with it.

Personally, I think that the mind should be occupied all the time to stay sharp.

I wonder, why many people think that the mind should have a rest.

Maybe it is so because modern life is full of stresses.
