The Struggle (YB No 143)

As disciples we may struggle

On the path that love prepares;

Jesus points to life with choices –

Vital for the one who cares.

We would never be that someone

Leading little ones astray;

For to foster hurtful conduct

Merits shame in every way.

If we cut off all our contact

That we have with wrongful deeds,

Then the light of love shines brighter;

And we find that grace succeeds.

As we struggle, look at Jesus

And what he was pointing to;

His example will inspire

All we say and all we do.
