Easter to Pentecost     Easter 5     John 15:1-8

I am the vine (YB No 120) 

A vine and branches are as one,

Like Jesus and his friends;

With Jesus as the vine of life

On him each branch depends.

If Jesus words remain with us

And guide us on our way,

We bear much fruit, and then we show

God’s love is on display.

We are no use unless the fruits

Of kindness, peace and grace

Are found in us, for these confirm

The strength of God’s embrace.

When bound together in the love

Once lived in Galilee,

As branches of this vital vine

We share our ministry.
