God - a Trinity (Vol 1 No 19)

Trinity - God is beyond;

Source of life to which we bond;

Trinity - God is between;

Known in people, yet unseen;

Trinity - God is within;

From which joys and hopes begin.

God beyond - ‘the otherness’;

Source of grace and gentleness;

Far outside imagined norms;

Not confined to any forms.

Called ‘the Father’; infinite;

Spring of uncreated light.

God between - connecting me

To the one in Galilee;

Present when there’s two or three

Side by side on bended knee.

Called ‘the Christ’; he has defined

God’s own life in humankind.

God within - deep in our core;

Deeper than the breath we draw;

That indwelling from each birth,

Sanctifying all on earth;

Called ‘the Spirit’; we can know

Life abundant, as we grow.

Blend this ambiguity

With our faith’s discovery;

God remains a mystery;

But we touch reality.

We can sense a unity

In our sacred Trinity.
