God is within humanity

To prompt and to sustain;

To comfort, challenge and affirm

All acts that are humane.

I’m proud of our humanity

When grim disasters come;

Our hearts may break but not our wills;

Our spirits shan’t succumb.

I’m proud of our humanity

When nature does its worst;

Our gen’rous spirits then begin

To put ‘the other’ first.

I’m proud of our humanity

When others risk their life

To rescue strangers, those unknown;

And grimly face the strife.

God is within humanity;

God shares in all our pain;

When loving others we declare

God’s presence does sustain.
