Jesus - the Christ (Vol 1 No 31)
As we journey on, we can dwell upon
Our religious diversity;
We can name our church; or pursue the search
For a faith and a ministry.
We come to this person Jesus,
On our path of discovery.
In the gospel tale we can find a trail
Of unfailing integrity.
Jesus lived in God by the way he trod,
He was strong in adversity.
In Jesus, the human mortal,
There is love in its majesty.
When they told Good News to their fellow Jews
The disciples spoke radically.
Gospels tell of One - they say ‘God’s Own Son
Is the promise of prophesy.’
So Jesus and Christ are welded
In a faith-stated unity.
He’s the window through which we clearly view
What we mean by divinity.
For the God we know is in love we show
Born of Christ in humanity.
The story of Christ called Jesus,
Is of God-human synergy.
