Sacred writings? (Vol 1 No 81)

The greatest story ever toldGives challenge and gives light; In sacred writings we receiveGreat wisdom and insight; For comfort, guidance and support,When struggling for the right,A sacred word can be the dawnThat sweeps away the night. We find within our sacred bookSo much has been abused; From dated laws and national warp –For wars, it has been used; But still with light and love of GodIts pages are infused.A sacred word can be the seedFrom which growth is produced. Our sacred book tells of the oneFor whom all violence ends;He is the one who cares, forgives;Who calls the poor his friends; So Jesus is the one on whomOur teaching now depends.A sacred word is grace withinFrom where God’s love extends.
