Creativity (Vol 4 No 47)
Wonder, myst’ry, awesome splendour
All are here for us to see;
Life, creating life unceasing,
Sings for us a liturgy;
We can join as co-creators
In this thrilling symphony.
In communities affirming
Those who risk and have a go
Much creative skill and talent
Can emerge, begin to flow;
God’s own spirit deep within us
Stirs artistic seeds to grow.
Paint a picture; save some buttons;
Build a house; become a clown;
Cook a tasty meal for others;
Knit a shawl; create a gown;
All can voice God’s loving purpose;
Bring a smile and not a frown.
Grow some natives; foster children;
Engineer a wheel or two;
Plan a railway; play some music;
Preach about a wondrous Jew;
These creative enterprises
Can bring meaning into view.
Taking photos, searching life-lines,
Sharing apples, breathing well
Are some ways we live creation;
Author stories that we tell;
All of life can be our worship
For in God is where we dwell.
