Life is a gift; a journey to be trav’ling
In joy and grief, in happiness and pain;
Sometimes we need a change or some unrav’ling;
Sometimes things happen we just can’t explain.
We can be thankful; Let us give voice;
God from within us gives us reason to rejoice.
Grief comes our way; it can engulf our living;
Life adds a sting when tragedies arrive;
When these occur life can be unforgiving,
And we need love and comfort to survive.
We can be strengthened; Let us take heart;
God from within us gives us strength to play our part.
Joy and delight give life a thrilling splendour;
Peace and good cheer assign us harmony;
That which gives zest is love both strong and tender;
We can find blessing and community.
We can be grateful; Let us be still;
God from within us gives us promise of goodwill.
We journey on; the unknown future calls us;
God is within and love will take us there;
In joy or sorrow and what’er befalls us,
God is beyond and love will meet us there.
Our course before us may not be known;
But we are sure that we will never be alone.
