Deep in my soul (Vol 1 No 67)

Deep in my soul my longings are for peace;Peace from the struggles and the stress within; So dry and parched, I never seem to ceaseTo need relief and then new strength to win; With God’s embracing waters may I knowA ‘cooling’ and a ‘soothing’ as they flow. Deep in my soul I find my hope is weakWhen war, corruption, greed and vice prevail; And feeling helpless, even when I speakCondemning such, yet all to no avail; With God’s empowering word may I be strongTo speak of love and conquer what is wrong. Deep in my soul a shout for joy arisesFor all the love and gentleness I find,For all the beauty and the sweet surprises,For all delights of body and of mind.I see God is within, between, beyond;God is the future; warmly I respond. So deep within my soul I do find peace;I do find confidence and hope that thrives,  A ‘calming’ and a feeling of release,A strength of purpose and a heart that strives. There’s faith and beauty deep within my soul;A ‘self’ companionship that makes me whole.
