Myths and Legends (YB No 83

The stories told of Jesus’ birth –

Both myths and legends of great worth,

Are told in strange and wondrous ways

Of far away in ancient days.

To Mary came an angel word;

She was amazed by what she heard;

She would give birth without male seed;

The baby born by God’s own deed.

This humble maid, no princess royal;

A lowly servant, meek and loyal

Was chosen for a major part

In this grand story from God’s heart.

Such godly plans do not depend

On status, wealth or stylish trend,

But on commitment to God’s reign

Of love and joy that will remain.
