Parables (Vol 3 No 42)

Jesus was a Jewish teacher

Parables, through which he taught,

Were both simple and engaging

To provoke and give support.

This great Galilean teacher

Gave respect to those in need;

Disadvantaged’ were attracted

By his care in word and deed.

When you sow the seeds for harvest

Spread your love most gen’rously;

Clothe the naked, feed the hungry;

As you do, it’s done to me.

Bind the wounds, restore the ‘the broken’;

Seek ‘the lost’ where’re they roam;

Feast with ‘Outcasts’ and ‘Rejected’,

And the ‘Wayward’ - welcome home.

We cannot ignore this teacher -

Dying for what he believed;

From his death new life has blossomed;

Let us share what we’ve received.
