Rebel Jesus (Vol 4 No 18)
Rebel Jesus (Vol 4 No 18)
When Jesus lived in Galilee -
When Jesus lived in Galilee -
A healer of renown,
He did not follow Jewish law,
He turned things upside-down.
He healed upon the Sabbath Day,
He suffered stern rebuff;
But he gave hope to outcast souls;
For him that was enough.
The holy leaders were dismayed;
They tried to silence him;
They said his teachinjgs were corrupt;
Their violent plans were grim.
To Romans, with their killing ways,
Their treachery and might,
He was a threat, this peasant sage,
This rebel Nazarite.
They killed him and they thought they’d won,
Their pygmy minds were caught
In selfish greed and power lust,
Perverse in deed and thought.
Inspite of all they tried to do
In killing him that day,
They could not kill his God-like love;
It lives in us today.
Any tune that will fit. Metre 8.6 8.6.
