Compassion shows the face of God,

And sings a song of peace;

It prompts us give support and care;

Makes brutal conflicts cease.

Compassion is the gospel sign;

Non-violence is its theme;

When hostile weapons are suppressed

Then mercy reigns supreme.

Compassion smiled from Jesus’ face;

He still confronted wrong;

He spoke for those who had no voice;

Was peaceable yet strong.

Compassion strives for harmony,

But not with force of war;

Compassion always seeks to win

By loving more and more.
