Fruits of the spirit give the light
By which we all can live.
Both love and joy can bring delight;
Help you and I forgive.
Fruits of the spirit change the place
Where we share company;
With peace and patience we displace
Stress and disharmony.
Kindness and goodness are the fruits
To ripen every day;
By them we may resolve disputes;
Walk by a better way.
With faithfulness, humility –
Deep fruits within our soul,
We sense the wondrous mystery -
Freedom of being whole.
With self-control our spirits learn
To exercise restraint;
To stop and listen, to discern
Our ill-advised complaint.
The fruits of God within each one
Reveal our human worth;
Just like the rising of the sun
These fruits give us rebirth.
