Christmas 2 John 1: (1-95), 10-18
The Word (YA No 14)
The Word is always heard
In all creation’s story;
It is this self-same Word
Declaring ancient glory;
The Word already was
Before all time began;
The Word was there because
It dreamt a sacred plan.
The Word, the source of life,
Brings light to every person;
In darkness and in strife
This light will never weaken;
In every living soul
This light directs the way
To where we can be whole;
Where virtue comes to play.
In Jesus we behold
This Word in flesh. It’s human!
In him we see unfold
This Word of strong compassion;
Although he was passed by,
We’re caught in his embrace;
His life, we testify,
Grants to us ‘Grace on grace’.
We too are called to be
This Word of God to others;
Seek justice, dignity
For all our sisters, brothers;
As children of the light
Our voices may be heard
If we, with love, unite
And spread this wondrous Word.
