Mass Tragedy (Vol 4 No 105)
Mass Tragedy (Vol 4 No 105)
When tragedy has swamped our lives,
When memories drain our soul,
When emptiness fills every day
We may lose self-control.
When fear with spite lurks at each door,
If hate is on display,
If violence leads us to revenge
We then have lost our way.
God is immersed in all our pain
And changed by what we feel;
Yet in another’s caring love
God ministers to heal.
May I release this God of love
To work the works of grace;
May I extend the olive branch
Of peace to every race.
