Jesus - the man who lived freedom (Vol 1 No 34)
In the stories told, we can there behold
One whose life was supremely free;
He did not let fear ever interfere
With his message or ministry.
Consider this man called Jesus;
One whose life was intensely free.
If revenge was urged then his love emerged,
He would act out of sympathy;
He did not rely on ‘an eye for eye’,
But he taught, ‘Love your enemy’.
Consider this man called Jesus;
One whose life was intensely free.
He was not beset by the tempter’s net;
Did not seek popularity;
He dismissed the thought that he could be bought;
Would not sanction dishonesty.
Consider this man called Jesus;
One whose life was intensely free.
When his end drew near he did not let fear,
Nor the pain of Gethsemane
Halt his march direct; it had no affect;
He decided on Calvary
Consider this man called Jesus;
One whose life was intensely free.
When our freedoms call let us stand up tall;
Let our lives be intensely free;
For we can proclaim it is just the same
As the days there in Galilee
So look at the life of Jesus;
He is challenging you and me.Tune Margaret AHB 206 Not in TiS
