Gospel truth (Vol 2 No 86)

When looking at a gospel word,

Or thinking on what we have heard,

The truth will help to set us free;

Help find the one from Galilee.

Two thousand years have come and gone

Since Matthew, Mark, since Luke and John

Were used by Christians to proclaim

The new-found way in Jesus’ name.

So as we risk to venture there

To look, to heed, become aware

Of this young Rabbi, what he said

When speaking bold, when breaking bread.

In Jesus’ life is where we find

Profound compassion, love defined.

His story still inspires my soul;

Dares me to live a life that’s whole.
