Movement forward in the Bible (Vol 1 No 79)

In scripture’s pages we can move

To annals of the past,

To ancient cultures, years ago,

To when their lore was cast.

From God who once destroyed all life,

And led the troops to war,

We move to Jesus, hear him say,

“Forgive, love and restore.”

God lived inside the temple walls -

That’s what the priests declared,

But, “God is found in human hearts”,

Is what Christ Jesus said.

And cov’nants made in ancient times

Were on a national line,

But Jesus welcomes everyone;

Says, “Yes” with bread and wine.

We can continue in our faith

To ponder and review;

Like priests and prophets as before

Replacing old with new.
