That joyous day (Vol 1 No 76)
That joyous day (Vol 1 No 76)
We look towards that joyous day
When war will be no more;
When armaments are out of date,
And bombs are made of straw.
We look towards that joyous day
When human slav’ry ends;
When freedom, hope and dignity
To everyone extends.
We look towards that joyous day
When hungry ones are fed;
When nature’s droughts will not prevent
The ‘starving’ having bread.
We look towards that joyous day
When might is not abused;
When graft, corruption are suppressed,
And justice not refused.
These days we hope will soon arrive;
But they will not appear
Until we choose to make it so;
And show we are sincere.
We cannot ask a god above
To rectify our woes;
But when we act with gen’rous hearts
God surely overflows.
