Easter to Pentecost     Day of Pentecost     John 20:19-23  or John 7:37-39.   20: 19 -23 used.

I give you peace (YA No 51)

When Jesus stands among us, he says; “I give you peace.”;

God’s spirit, dwelling in us all, is love that brings release;

He sends us out to share this love, to comfort and to give

Support to those who need it most; to pardon and forgive.

When Jesus stands among us, he says; “I give you peace.”;

In faith we know this peace remains, his love will never cease;

But if we do not act in grace, forgiveness is not given;

Relationships break down; the wrong, in fact, is not forgiven.

So Jesus stands among us and says; “I give you peace.”;

This peace is not for us to keep but can, in us, increase;

This inner peace is what we know when following his way

We find this peace, the peace he gives for each and ev’ry day.
